Sprint Tri Race Report (Tri2Remember, Gainseville GA)

My 2nd tri...  i felt really strong throughout the race even though it was pouring rain for most of it (let's just say that the towel at the transition area was worthless ;) ).  I went in the first wave on the swim which was a good thing.  The bike was a fairly hilly course with a couple of mean suckers at the beginning, but the backside of the 13 mile loop was downhill and you could make up a bunch of time.  I really improved on my run and the brick/stairmaster workouts are really paying off!  nutrition was good overall with a gel pouch (half to most of 1 clif shot) before each leg seemed to work well for me.  and powerade zero before the swim and about 30 oz on the bike leg.  no hydration on the run, as it was raining pretty hard....

next up for me, my third sprint tri 2 weeks from tomorrow, here are the details/splits from the race:

I finished 97th out of 540 overall, and 6th out of 42 in the clydesdale division.

total time 1:16:03
swim split (400M): 8:59, 10th in division
Transition 1: 2:10
Bike split (approx 13 miles): 38:30, 23.1 MPH, 4th in division
Transition 2: 1:02
Run Split (5K): 25:25, pace 8:12, 11th in division

Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Good job!  I hate that it was raining all day but it sounds like you made the best of it.
