Compression garments?
I've been struggling with something for a few months and thought I'd finally ask the experts :) I started off at 515 lbs and had a DS in Aug 2006. I've lost 285+ lbs leaving me with A LOT of excess skin. I play a lot of tennis and am having issues with my loads o'flab flapping around. It's hard to be quick-reacting when dealing with so much excess skin. I eventually cut the legs out of a couple of pair of high waisted Spanx (after getting runs in the pantyhose sections) and that has worked great for my midsection, but I am still having problems with my thighs. They rub together too much and if I am really chasing after balls, they can make audible slapping sounds....very embarassing.
Can anyone recommend any type of garment that would help keep my thighs from jiggling so much? I came across Under Armour compression pants and they look promising, but I don't know how much compression they really provide. Any other brands I should look at? The other problem is that I am tall (almost 6') and have had issues in the past with girdle like garments that rollup in the thigh? Mind you this was pre-surgery, but I suspect I'd have the same problem now. I would wear Spanx, but I like to wear shorts and Spanx would show. Not so much of a problem in the winter months (as I'd be wearing pants), but here in Atlanta, we probably have another 2 months of short-wearing weather. Also with Spanx, I love the strength of compression/control in the midsection, but there is never the same amount in the thighs.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly, greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much!

I've never used Spanx to workout in, only when wearing a form-fitting dress to smooth out the curves--but I know about thigh-roll-up! It's a pain.
I have a lot of excess skin at the belly , butt and thigh areas, and I found some very good Champion running pants at Target.com. The only problem I have with them is that they have a low waist, so in order to hold in my lower belly when I run, I hitch up the sides. They are 12% spandex, 88% cotton, and I really like them! They are long pants, though. Only good for the winter in Atlanta, I'm afraid!
I have seen some Champion bike shorts, but I haven't tried them for running. I prefer full-leg coverage, but then, I am in the shady, rainy Pacific Northwest, so it's not such an issue as in the hot South!
I just thought of something--what about wearing Spanx underneath bike shorts? You'd get compression support, and the bike short would cover the Spanx. Also, I have seen women wearing compression capris underneath mid-thigh length running shorts. Go figure! Hey, if it works...

Thank you! I wil try the bike shorts. I've never worn any before and so was under the impression that they might not work.
I did some more digging and came across something like you wear, but capris instead of long pants. They have inseams of 17" and that's right at my knees. I will give those a try & the bike shorts as well.
Thanks!

I have some UnderArmour compression shorts. They cost about $25 and work pretty well for exercise I do besides biking. I have a compression tank top too (and more on order!) that holds in the midsection because it flaps when I'm on the bike.
I've tried Spanx but they don't breath enough and I got very, very hot in them. The UnderArmour stuff is awesome and not as pricy as some of the stuff you see from other manufacturers (though they do have a $100 compression shirt, if you really want to spend the money).
