Anyone using an Aero Helmet
http://www.bikesportmichigan.com/features/aero_helmet.shtml
Anybody riding with an Aero helmet? Have you found any speed improvement?
This article says best bang for the buck when it comes to speed improvement. Was just wondering if anyone here had any info to backup this info.
Thanks
Scott

Quick thing to add: be careful with the fit. They do fit differently. I actually got mine at bikesport in Michigan and was able to try on 3 brands. I like what I've got (the cheaper Giro) and it actually fit the best of all three -- though I like the extra fairing in the Spuzik helmet.
The first race I did, I tore the ear flap slightly. As I was putting it on I heard and felt a crack and thought the helmet was toast. Just something to practice as it goes on slightly different than your regular helmet. Something I didn't take into account going into that race :(

I agree with, Dan. They are dorky.
I figure I'll start wearing one when Chrissie Wellington does.

I'm getting new wheels anyway. New wheels are sexy. Aero helmets are not.
(Note: I don't know *when* I'm getting them, but I've added them to my list...)

I agree that it is the engine powering the bike, but a 2 minute reduction in an olympic distance event, and a 3-6 minute reduction in your time for an ironman even just by changing helmet style is huge. I have seen those numbers in a couple different articles.
