Having A Bit of a Motivation Meltdown

Hi, folks! I'm just going to complain for 2 seconds about my lack of motivation today. I KNOW that once I get out there and I feel the wind on my face and the accomplishment of logging more miles, I will feel better. But right now it is RAINING and I am LAZY and I just don't want to do it!!! Wah, wah, wah. I suck. The end.

Just go do it, you will feel better afterwards.

Do you have a rest day scheduled this week.  Perhaps this could be the day.
But not excuses tomorrow!

You're right--I went out and did my run, and felt really good, both during and after! It was funny. Twice I passed another runner and we gave each other the "thumb's up," kind of laughing that here we were, splashing through puddles, muddy feet and all, and still having a good time.

Yesterday was my day off, which explains kind of why I was dragging my feet today. I'm still early enough in the game that I experience a lack of inertia if my pattern is broken! "Objects in motion tend to stay in motion, objects at rest tend to stay at rest!" kind of mentality. But now I feel much better. Thanks!

You are so right about the patterns and inertia, I just adopted a new 9 week old puppy this past Sunday and was so busy dealing with this adorable little rascal that I didn't work out for a few days and it's been so hard to get started again.  it's hard to get me to stop when I'm doing it regularly.

Congrats, glad you are feeling better.
I know I hate my running, it feels too much like work.  But I always feel good when I'm done.  It's a feeling of accomplishment.

It seems like the days that I want to work out the least are the days that I have my best work outs.  Props. to you for going out and doing it anyway.

Rain, what is this word you speak of. We are in a drought that may be the worse in history. Our agriculture economy is taking a huge hit this year. I think when it rains I will runn all day in it.

Good job getting out there anyways/ I know I have those days occasionally!
