Hydration and Fuel question
What are you drinking?
I'm using Nunn electrolyte tables, 1 packet of s/f zero cal crystal light for flavor, and 1 scoop of a very light protein powder that is 40/cal 6 grams of protein. I mix this into a sports bottle with water. I like the flavor, I'm getting the electrolytes from the Nunn and a little bit of protein/carbs from the powder.
How often do you drink?
I am still experimenting and I haven't settled on anything yet. But as of my last run, I am taking in 2 squirts from the sports bottle every mile. So I am probably getting 2-3 ounces every 10 minutes or so.
What are you eating?
I have tried sports beans, and these go down o.k. but I find it hard to eat while I run. I have also tried the cliff shots and several other of the jellied candy type foods.
Currently I am working on Hammer or GU or Kona gel shots.
How often do you eat?
I have been downing 1 of these every 2 miles or so, and following it up with a swig of my hydration fluid. These actually sit heavy in my stomach unless I follow them up with the fluid. This was the recommended fuel source of my dietician.
