First run in 16 days.

It really kind of sucked.  I took the week before my wedding off.  That was planned.  I usually take a week off every few months and I planned that one.  What I didn't plan as I unpacked my suit case on Martha's Vineyard was pulling out my running stuff but forgetting my shoes.  That really annoyed me.  Every time I saw a runner (probably 800 times in 5 days) I thought that it should be me out there.  I even tried to find a shoe store but none had "real" running shoes.  Anyway, I settled for two weeks off.

I mostly feel bad for my wife.  She had to hear about it all week.  Even though, we did a lot of walking.  It was a great week.

The moral of the story is that if you take 16 days off, you will simle through the first mile of your first run back.  After that, not so much.

Yep Scott, I totally get it.

Happy Newlywed-dom, by the way!  Glad you had a great time.

My last month of school last semester had no runs and 2 spin classes.  Getting back going completely sucked.  Didn't even get that first good mile.

I'm sure it was all worth it though, and you'll get it back in no time.

I hope you are right.  I was gunning for a PR at this fall's 1/2 in Hartford.  We shall see.

Gret pics, and congrats.  I wish you many years of happiness.

Welcome back to the running.  I hope your transition back is painless.

Great wedding pictures Scott!  I'm sure your muscle memory will take over and your legs will forget all about the time off.
