Off to Austin and Packet Pick up then to New Braunfels for the Jack's Generic Tri
Well, I am about to take the 3 hour drive to Austin to get my race packet. Then I will drive to New Braunfels to go over the bike and run course. I am really excited about the race. This will be my 1st one with an open water swim. It is only 500 meters. I was finally able to get my 1st OWS practice this past Monday. It worked out pretty well. Like Dan told me, water is water. I drift to the left so until I fix that I will need to sight more often than I wanted to. Race goals are to finish the swim under 15 min. to finish the bike without a flat, and to not walk on the run. Hoping for a race finish of 1:45, but again the main goal is to finish the race with a smile on my face. I am extremely excited because my wife, daughters, parents, and maybe my brother and his family will be here for this one.

Good luck. Those are some great goals! They remind me of the 3 rules of Tri:
Swim: Don't drown
Bike: Don't crash
Run: Don't bonk
Swim: Don't drown
Bike: Don't crash
Run: Don't bonk
