I am now 15 months out from surgery, lost ~124lbs and weigh between 125 and 128lbs. I walked several times a week and do some light resistance training. Some of the staff at work want to enter a 1/2 marathon in November and want me to join them. Any advice on training? How should I eat? I have tried some jogging but my knees give me problems. I would like to walk/jog if possible. I have never been athletic and not sure if I can do this but want to give it a try. Any advice is welcome. Thanks. Shelli
I would find a training plan for the time frame you have and see if you think you can do it. If you can make it 9-10 miles, you can do a half.
I walked a half with my mom and sister a few years ago and it was more than fine. My sister even did it without training. It wasn't pleasant for a couple days after, but she made it just fine.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right. Take your time training, progress slowly to avoid injury, and most of all have fun.
