Today was a 10K run at a average 9:29 pace.   I'm back into running mode in preparation for the Hudson-Mohawk Marathon in October.

Tuesday workout:  30 minutes of alternating 2 min. sit-ups, 2 lap run, 2 min. push-ups, 2 lap run, 2 min stepper, 2 lap run, 2 min. jumping tip-taps on a tire, 2 lap run, then followed with 30 min. boxing circuit.  I love boxing class.

70 minutes of walking today -- 30 at a 4.0 mph pace and the rest at a slower pace with a friend who is one week out from surgery -probably close to 3.5 mph though.

Did my BRIC class in the AM. Our instructor is tapering for an IM so he ran pretty slow and the other slow runner and I were able to keep up. In fact, I was the fastest. I was shocked that we had done our 2.38 miles in under 9:50 because we were also chatting while running!

Then, in the PM did my regular track workout. We did 1 mile time trials and I BROKE NINE MINUTES. I pushed myself like crazy and did my mile in 8:40. After doing 2x200 and 2x800s to warm up too.

I did a 6 mile run.  I can go the distance, I just can't seem to get the speed.  I tried some speed drills my running coach gave me but I couldn't complete the workout.  I guess I will have to keep trying.

You keep working at it and doing your best,...it will come.  Remember doing a 6 mile run is an accomplishment in itself.  Getting faster is gravy.  It is the latest carrot at the end of the stick dangling until you reach it (setting a new Personal Record (PR)) and set the next goal.
