Tour De Goatneck Race Report.....

Hey Everyone,

Since I was not able to register for the Oly Tri I wanted to do tomorrow because it was full, I was very happy I found this race down in Cleburne, TX. It was 112k (69.75 miles) and was a pretty good challenge. 2500+ riders, a well ran race, great weather all equalled a great day for me! Buffalo Springs Half Ironman last month was a good challenge because the wind and hills, and had a total of 1200' of elevation climb. Today's race had over 2450' of elevation climb and was the perfect race prep for Louiseville Ironman next month. I nailed my nutrition, bananas, gels, sports beans, 3 refills on my Camelbak with Gatorade was money! This race was ran exceptionally well and was a blast. I am getting much stronger on the hills and could not be happier with the results considering the climbing and winds (10-12 mph sustained). I finished the 69.75 miles in 3:35:07 and averaged 19.5MPH for the day! I am going to spend the rest of the day with my family and hope ya'll have a great weekend. Take care...
