I am late reading your post but I noticed your posted Friday. If all this transpired Friday, my guess is the money is going to be drafted from your account today. My previous banking experience yields that an ACH takes written request and a few days to setup and cancel. The gym can cancel you but they will continue to take the payment until they submit the paperwork.

I suggest you call your bank where the money is being taken from. The bank should be able to stop the ACH quicker than the gym will. 

Thanks.  I did talk to the bank and put stop on the $.  Now I just have to wait for the colloetion agency to contact because they didn't get the money.  Oh well.
