Does anyone know of triathalon training for beginners in the western suburbs of Philly, specifically West Chester or somewhere in Chester County or a national org that might have local chapters.  I did a few google searches and only found one private coach.

Thanks so much, none are super close to me but I'll check them out.  MacMadame inspired me to go for it.

I'm finally home and was about to answer your PM.

But Chad's list is great.

The other thing to do is check out if your local Y has some sort of triathlon training program. There is a triathlon in my town every year that all the local gyms, including the Y, build "new to the sport" programs around, for example.

My gym had something last year but nothing this year so far.  I'll keep hunting.

Ask them.. maybe it just hasn't started up yet. Check with the local Y too. Ours is running a training program for women for a woman's only tri in June.

Anything in the Philly area could have programs all over. (West Chester is outside Philadelphia, right?)

Even if the clubs don't have a specific beginner program, they can still be really helpful.

I was born and raised in Chester County PA.  I actually now live in West Chester off Rt. 100.  I moved back home here to care for a sick parent after 18 years in the San Francisco Bay Area.

So a Grinder???? I thought we ate Hoagies here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (I know, a Grinder is just a hot Hoagie).  With my surgery eating a Hoagie/Grinder with that much bread would fill me up in 1 bite, but now you have me craving  it.
