What are your big races this season?

I plan on running a bunch of 5K's this year but I don't usually sign up ahead of time.  There are 10-15 that I will hit on random Saturday mornings.

I didn't get into with the lottery for the Mt. Washington road race so I am kind of bummed about that.  Other than the 5K's, I will pick out a half marathon somewhere in Northern New England during the fall (and hope they have a 5K!  ).

How is your year planned?  What races are you gunning for?
Scott

Here is my race schedule as of right now. I may opt out of the May 15th Olympic Triathlon depending on how my biking is coming along. Havent had much time in the saddle.

I also plan to do a bunch of 5 & 10K's but not many have been posted just yet. Also looking at doing back to back Century rides over the same weekend in June to raise money for MS. Oh yeah, I also would like to sign up for Sprint tri's during some of my open weekends

My "A" race is the Steelhead HIM, which will take place on my 40th Birthday. I'm already registeread, and even managed to win super discounted entrance fee for this.

1. April 25th. Borgess "Run for the health of it" Half Marathon

2. May 15th. Pokagon Triathlon (Olympic)

3. May 30th. Seahorse Triathlon (Olympic)

4. July 5th. Fifth Third Firecraker Triathlon (Sprint)

5. August 1st. Whirlpoll Steelhead Half Ironman

There are a bunch of local 5ks that I plan to do this year.  I like to do about 1 per month.

Now for my BIG races - LOL!!

I am doing the Broad Street Run on May 3rd.  I can't wait!!  I've never done a big race (distance-wise (10 miles) or people-wise!) so I think it will be exciting!!

I am about 90% sure that I am going to do the Philadelphia Marathon in November.  Registration opens on 4/1 (my 42nd Birthday) so I think that is a sign that I must register and train!!

I do 5K's as training for tris. So mine are all C races.

I did one March 15th and I'm thinking about doing one on Mother's Day, just for fun. I am doing a 4 mile run next weekend as well and I'm thinking about a 10k in Oct.

I do consider the 10k to be a big race though. I'll be done with tris for the season and working on increasing my distances for next year. So doing it is a stretch goal for me.

I'm going to do the Bear Chase half marathon April 11 and the only big race I have on my schedule is the White Rock Marathon in Dallas in December.

Here's some of plans.  Gonna do a number of local 5K's that will be starting up in a couple of weeks.  We do have an interesting one which is 10K that runs across the Blue Water Bridge that spans Michigan with Canada -- should be a fun one.
The serious schedule:
June 7: Ann Arbor Triathlon (sprint)
June 14: Motor City Triathlon, gonna stay with the the olympic distance
June 22: Brighton Triathlon (sprint)
July 11: Anchor Bay Triathlon (sprint)
July 22: Brighton Triathlon (sprint)
August 1: Steelhead 70.3
August 19: Brighton Triathlon (sprint)
September 13: Muskoa 70.3
October 18: Detroit Marathon
November 1: NYC Marathon (gonna put in for the lottery)
Junuary 9-10: Goofy Race and a Half Challenge (Walt Disney World)

Hmmm, guess I filled up my summer schedule didn't I, lol

Snort...y'all put me to shame.

Tomorrow I'm doing the ING Half Marathon and leaving my timing chip at home!

Mother's day weekend I'm relaying the Gulf Coast Half Ironman-swim leg

I have a free entry into the revolution3 half ironman in CT. I may or may not go. If I go I'll either swim or run in a relay. www.rev3tri.com

Hey-Trakkers will be at Louisville-for $20 you can rent the device and we can track you live in real time instead of the crappy championchip way behing and inconsistant updates.

Try to keep it down to one 5k or 10k a month and maybe a 1/2 marathon. Looking at a full marathon in Nov. Would like to do the Outer Banks marathon but might do a local one the weekend before. Money might be the deciding factor.

The two big ones so far are the Chicago Spring Half Marathon and the Steelhead Half Ironman. I also have a couple 5ks a sprint tri and hopefully a olympic tri in prep for steelhead.
