I did my "hill" repeats on the treadmill. After walking half a mile at 4 degree incline I ran for 400 meters at 6 degrees at 6 mph or 10 min mile, slow it down for a recovery lap for 400 meters and then cranked it up to 8 degrees and 6mph for 400 meters, recovery lap and the cranked it up to 6.5 mph and then one at 7 and 7.5. The last one I went up to 10 degrees at 8 mph, that will get the heart rate up. Finished up with a half mile run at 2 degrees and the walked for 400 meters for a cool down. It really doesn't take that long but it is a good work out. Almost a speed work out and hill work out at the same time.
