So I have a mile run for time planned.
Then I am going to they local pool, they have an open masters swim tonight and it's only $5.00 to participate.
I hope to get a few of these in before the next triathlon.
I also have my Christmas wetsuit (haven't worn it yet)  I want to get in some instruction and see what it feels like to swim in this.  All I have used before was a little shorty wetsuit, so this should feel different.

I'm a little self conscious about wearing the wetsuit to the pool.  I don't want to look like a dork, but I feel like I need to get in some swim time with it.  I guess It's too late to worry about looking like a dork, I've been perfecting that for the last 41 years.

I just started jogging and today was my 4th attempt, i was able to jog 1.5 miles at a pace of around 12 or 13 minutes.  Before the run i did weights (back, bi, shoulders) for 40 minutes and 21 minutes on the stairmaster.  After the run i swam for around 1,400 yards.  It was a good day.  My goal is to run my first 5K in July with my father.  After that... who knows, maybe i'll look into tri's.
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

I'm new at the whole exercise thing.  I am trying to make it a daily habit and hopefully and addiction.  I hope I can trade it in for another.  So I managed to do 10 min this morning without stopping on the eliptical.  I know only 10 min but it was good for me.  I am gonna try and do another 10-12 tonight.

New year...New  begining..............

10 minutes is a lifetime more than 0 minutes.  Keep it up.  Before you know it you will be doing multiple workout and counting your time in hours and miles not minutes.

Welcome to the Exercise Boards Kenna!  This is a great place to learn from people who have walked the same path that you are embarking upon.   Remember to progress at your own pace and celebrate your personal milestones.

I scheduled a rest day for me.  With the increased mileage, my IT band is starting to act up again, so I need to baby it a bit.

I swam an hour today.

How do you count your yardage Dan? I try to hit the lap button on my watch but tend to forget and it only has a 50 lap memory.

I just count in my head. 1 mile is 1600 meters in a 25 meter pool that's 32 laps or 64 lengths. I start off first length and count it as .50 when i finish the lap i am at 1 then 1.5 on the next length, then finish the lap at 2 yada yada yada.... Also I do sets....   5 x 50's = 250 meters etc... I don't have a fancy watch, I just keep track in my mind. It's kind of therapeutic in that I don't have to think about anything accept count... It allows me to not worry about anything else and gives me an escape. I love swimming......

Joined the local masters team tonight.  Wow, it kicked my but!!  Felt great, don't know how much we did but it was pretty solid for an hour.  Learned a new torture: drag drills!
Looks like tomorrow I may be able to get bike on my bike (50 and no rain!)

Well tonight was the first night of masters swim class.  I still feel like I'm going to puke.
It was somewhere between 1500-2000 meters.  that's 4-5 times further than I have ever done before.

I think the swim coach was trying to drown me tonight.
