Hi,

We just purchased an Elliptical.  It says it has a weight limit of 250.  At one point DH and I were right at that number.  His BP meds have contributed to putting on 25 lbs above that and I am about 10lbs above it.

How do they determine weight limits, do they actually test the breaking point of the machines?

I had a gazelle that I used fine at 265 even though it said 250.

I would have to assume that they add a pretty good margin of error or cushion so as to avoid litigation.
