A day of rest?
I typically run every other day and cross train two days for a total of 5 or 6 days a week. I lift about 5 days a week also. If all is going well, I am at the gym 6 days a week. A few times a year I feel burnt out and take a week to 10 days off. I feel terrible but gets me back out with a new perspective.

I started out going to the gym 1-2 days a week and have slowly worked my way up. Until recently, I couldn't manage more than 5x a week without rests but I think I'm ready to move up to 6x a week.
My body does tend to "give out" if I try to workout too many days in a row.
