WEIGHTS VS REPS!

I am 3 years post RNY and have been excersising almost every day but mostly with walking. I have maintained a 100lb weightloss. I also had a tummy tuck 4 weeks ago. I am now back at the gym walking the track as I can't use any machines yet but will be able to in a few weeks. My question is what is more beneficial, doing more reps or increasing the weights on the machines?

Thanks

It is typically said that more reps will tone and more weight will build muscle.  Most women are looking to tone.  Anywhere from 8 - 15 reps is typical.

Thanks for your reply. So how many rounds of the 8-15 reps should I do?

I would start with three sets of 10 and see how that works.
