10 Minute Mile!!!!

I can't believe it!!!!!! I finally broke the barrier and was able to complete running a mile in 10 minutes (my time was 10:03) but that's good enough for me.

Stuck with a 6.0 pace and felt the burn about 1/2 way through but I was determined to bring down my time and I actually did it...despite what my brain was telling me.

So, now that that's accomplished, what time should I be working towards now?!?

Way to go!!!  I agree with Dan, go for 2 miles.  It's amazing what our bodies can do when we keep pushing ourselves isn't it?

I agree with the others.  2 miles in 20 minutes!!!

The first time I ran a 5K on the treadmill at the gym under 30 minutes I was psyched.  I pumped my fist and clapped a bit.  People must have thought I was nuts and right then, they would have been right.

Your first 10 MM.  What an achievement!

That's awesome.  I'm running a 5k this weekend and I've been very conservative lately as I've been doing longer runs however I'm going to really try to push myself to beat my previous 5k time of 34:55.  I'm happy for you, I know how good it feels to push yourself and reap in the accomplishment.

Way to go!

It's cool when we go beyond what we think we can!

I agree with trying to keep the faster pace for longer.
