Today was a 5-miler on the treadmill, including increasing ladder intervals and 400m repeats.

Here's what the workout looked like:
2 miles – 5.9 mph warm-up

4(400m) ladder at 6.2, 6.4, 6.6, 6.8 mph no rest intervals

4(400m) at 8 mph with 200 m RI.

I followed up with extensive stretching and core strengthening.

My health is about 80% now and I am looking forward to being back to 100% soon... Hopefully for my loooong run on Saturday. Anyways, hope everyone is well.

1 mile run at 10:03 at a 6.0 pace, woot! Did a lot of weights and took a spin class this evening which to my surprise was EASY!

For Wednesday:

1 hour Yoga class, using chairs instead of mats.
3 rounds of circuit training, working with weight-resistant machines.
15 minutes on stationary recumbent bike.  Plus, 3 minutes cool-down.
15 minutes on rowing machine.
Went mall-walking at a large shopping mall instead of going on treadmill.

I did a coached swim for 1 hour, 15 min.

Apparently I've been swimming wrong all these years. But when I was MO, I floated anyway and so didn't realize it.

Well I had planned an 8 mile Fartlek run today, but i got a mile in and could tell i was in bad shape.  I felt like I was running in place and muscles were just dead....so yep, dead legs.  I stopped and walked back, so total of 2 miles.

I was expecting this since its normal to hit these dead periods in training, just never know when they will hit.  So will hopefully bounce back with a nice cross train session tomorrow and 7 miler Friday

Good move.  You are right that sometimes you just don't have it.  Better to be annoyed at a poor workout than try to get through an awful one.

I did an hour on the elliptical Wednesday morning.
Today I was a slug.  I got up to go to the gym and even started getting dressed.
Then I went and plopped back into bed.  I guess today will be a rest day.
