My Goofy Report is ready.

It has been a while since the race but when I got home from Disney my furnace was shut off and my house was 16 degrees inside.  Over the next few days I replaced pipe in about 20 places.  I never really got to rest up after the vacation so that is what I have been doing for the last few days.

Anyway, in Florida I did the rough drafts of the reports right after the races and just added the pictures tonight.  I will include the link that is in my signature.  The Goofy reports are on page 3 of my journal at the bottom and the pictures are on page 4.

I was disappointed with the pictures.  I thought I had more but I took mostly video and apparantly didn't take many pictures.

The short version:
The Goofy was awesome again.  If you are in shape to do the full, the half really is not that big an obsticle.  I really don't think that it affacts the full much, at least at my pace which is S-L-O-W.

Scott, what a terrible home coming after such an enjoyable race weekend.  Living in Central New York, I'm always a little nervous about leaving home in the winter - it doesn't keep me away from Disney, though.  I hope you were able to get everything patched back up without too much expense.

Congratulations on overcoming the GI issues and finishing another Goofy.  One of these years, I'm going to have to give it a shot.  That extra medal is such a testament to the strong will that folks like you possess.

Next January, I think I'll be running the Houston Marathon, so I'll have to put Goofy on my 2011 "to-do" list.  Any thoughts of doing Vermont City Memorial Day weekend.  My running partner put us in for the lottery for the two-man relay.  We'll know if we got in in early February.

Take care,

Cassie

I said, "no more marathons for a while" but you know how that goes.  I have 4 now  but 5 sounds so much better.  Memorial day has always been a ballooning weekend for me but this year they cancelled the rally so I have it open.  Hmm?

Congrats on your finish!

Congrats again man.  You may not know it but you're the guy that inspired me to do my first marathon and I know you are an inspiration to many.   Now a triple crown Goofy finisher?   That's quite a feat dude!

Great accomplishment!

Chad,
Coming from you, that's a great compliment.  Especially with all you have done and will do!  There will be no Goofy next year.  If I can make it down, it will be for the 5K and half and to support my on line friends!  Thanks man.

It was reading your race reports about Disney that got me believing that I too could do a marathon and beyond.   My hats off to you bro...   and I also place the blame firmly upon your shoulders.  :)  But it's a good blame.

I'm prolly gonna have to put off Disney until 2011.   Some seem to think that recoving from 2 full distance Ironman races within 30 days of each other will require me to have a recovery period.  Bah!   Disney is on my goal list though so it's gonna happen.

Great report, Scott!

It still intrigues and encourages me that you (or anyone) can do a half one day and a full the next.

Way to go and I'm glad you had enjoyable races!

I must be honest and say that adding the half really does not affect the full that much.  This year was better because I didn't hit the Magic Kingdom after the 1/2 like I did last year.  That was stupid.  With an ice bath and some rest and reyhdration, it really wasn't bad.  Thanks.

Great job, Scott.  Amazing to think about running both days.  Sorry about the distress.  Maybe someday we'll meet.

Rob,
I am sure that we will.  I was very disappointed to get there late and know that nobody would be around.  With 25,000 people, the chances are slim anyway but to not even have a chance was tough.  I am glad that you finished and accomplished your goal.  You ran past me at some point but I was probably in a port-o-potty anyway!    Congrats.
