Just a 5k run, but I increased my speed from 5.2 to 5.5 mph.
I can certainly feel the difference in my legs after that little increase.

I will be doing a 1hr cardio class at Spa Lady tonight.  It's a combination of step and weights.

Scott,

I did a 30 minute Spinerval DVD this morning along with some planks and stretching. This evening I have swim training.

Cant wait for my new Garmin 305....

Heh heh.  How you like those planks?   When I can't swim for whatever reason my coach assigns me planks, t-planks and supermans.   You'd think they would be easy but they are real ball busters!  :)

Thanks Dan,

I decided to quit crying about it and try to push through my distance and speed issues.

I guess I just figured at some point it would be easy.  You know lose the weight, do some exercise and then it gets easier.  I realize that isn't going to happen.

keep on moving.

I'm impressed. I am only around 4.7 when I run and I can only run 2 mi of the 3.1 right now.

Today was a round on the Cybex machines and a 1-hour spin class.

Scott,  one of the games I play on the treadmill to make it more interesting is to run increasing intervals.  I'll warm up for 5 minutes.  Then, every two minutes I'll bump up the speed by .1 or .2 until I can't sustain the 2 minutes, then I drop the speed back down every two minutes by .1 or .2.  The game helps pass the time and pushes me to try faster speeds.

I am going to try this Cassie.  I like to run outside, but these past few days have been so butally cold, that I didn't think it was a good idea.  Only problem is, I find running on the treadmill to be complete torture - I hate every minute of it!  Maybe if I played games, it would make the time more bearable.

Today I did 1 hour spin class followed by 20 minute brick, then a 1600 meter swim in 28:09. It's amazing how sore my shoulders still are from last wednesdays big swim. Hopefully in a couple days they will be all better. Take care ya'll...
