The Couch-to-5K program will have you running a 5k in 9 weeks. Though it's going to take me more like 12 because I wasn't running 3x a week at first.

So a 5k in Spring is very doable. Don't underestimate yourself!

Hey
Welcome, it's great to see other people from SC posting on this forum.  You will find so much support, information, inspiration and motivation here.  I have already learned so much from posting and lurking here.

I have signed up for a half marathon on may 16, but that is it so far...still looking for runs in my area they seem to be to few and far between. Just have to make my own runs!

I'm surprised South Dakota even has Marathons? ha ha.. I'm teasing..

Great plan, after the first of the year, more people will start advertising for the 5 & 10 K races..

Great job

If Sioux Falls is anything like Missoula, you may just have to check the local parks and rec department or with your local running club to find the races.  That's the way I find out about everything except the tris - that info I get in race packets.

January 1, Resolution 5k
April 19th, Baby Ice Breaker Triathlon (sprint)
May 2, Wine country century (100k bike ride)
June 6th, The 26th Annual TRI for FUN #1 (sprint)
June 26th, The 26th Annual TRI for FUN #2 (sprint)
August 8th, The 25th Annual TRI for FUN #3 (sprint)
September 6, Disneyland 1/2 marathon ( if I can save the cash for hotel and airfare)
November ??, U.C. Davis Turkey Trok 10k
More races will be added as I find them or they become available.  I have a goal of over logging 100 miles run/swim/bike combined in race or organized events this year.  More would be better.

Scott,

I just realized as I'm typing this your probably just getting up, and getting ready for your 5K.

Looks like you have a full plate of races as well. Just make sure you get plenty of rest in between races. Not everyone can be a stud like those people in Louisiana.
