Todays workout:
I started the couch 2 5k program again today.  The first time I did it, I was only able to muster 4mph running and 3 mph walking.  Today on my restart I was doing the running portion at 6mph and the walking at 3.5.  I guess I have made some improvement.  I could have never run at 6mph before.  I guess the improvements are small and not always noticeable.

After the run, I did 30 minutes on the stationary bike.

Today was the first day in a long time that I broke a good sweat.  While it isn't where I want to be, it is an improvement.

Thanks for all the ideas and support.

Scott

Another hour on the elliptical this morning.
Hoping to start the strength trining twice a week next week.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. This is helpful and encouraging to read what everyone else is up to. I had been faithfully posting on another site but after a couple of weeks of nobody but me posting, it wasn't very helpful.

Have a happy and successful Thankgiving everyone!

Tonight, I joined the local running club for a fun run to kick off the Christmas lights display in our community.  For me, it was a slow 2.5 miles, but I was just thankful to be out on the pavement again.  The hip held, but towards the end of the run, it reminded me why I have to continue to build slowly.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm glad you felt like you were moving better today!

Mine was a speed run today.

10 min at 6.7 to warm up
10 min 7.2; 2 min 6.7 (repeat)
5 min at 6.7 to cool down
Somewhere around 4.5 miles total

This one was tough!  Not used to that speed for 10 min, but it felt great to be able to do it!
