Help! I'm so sore after workout

Oh my aching....everything. I don't think I have ever been so sore! I can hardly get up and down off the couch without hurting. I had been doing elliptical and treadmill work for a while now and have become bored with the routine, so I decided to do the ultimate cardio class at the gym thinking I could handle it..the instructor started the class by saying she had lost 2lbs after doing this particular workout. I was very excited thinking this is really what I needed. Well, needless to say, I was really enthusiastic for about the first 15 minutes and really had to push myself to finish the last 30 hahahaha Now I'm so sore, I can hardly move. Any recommendation on aleviating the soreness? I have always heard that continuing to workout helps soreness...but I am way too sore to even think about working out. As for the 2lbs...well I am too sore to step on the scale hahaha. Any advice is appreciated! I have a 9 month old to chase after and just thinking about that makes my muscles scream.

Stretching before and after exercising.
I also like to use the dry sauna at the gym after working out, it helps me loosen up as well.
Some time I do my stretching in there after the workout.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!

Light exercise (especially walking) is your friend when sore.  It increases the circulation and helps remove the lactic acid build-up in the muscles from anaerobic metabolism.  The second day after is always worse, so the sooner you can get some movement in the better off you will be.

Take glutamine. It's a sports supplement (powder or capsule) that you mix in with your final protein shake, right before you go to bed. About 3 to 5 grams, should do it. Thats one scoop, that should come in the container.
The glutamine restores the glycogen in your muscles, while you sleep. Body builders and other sport enthusiasts, use it every time after a workout. Keeps your soreness WAY down. Give it a try! You can find it at any reputable vitamin store.
