Hi, everyone! I am new to this website. I am morbidly obese and one thing I need to improve on is my exercise. I used to do things like Tae-bo and dance with my friends until I was in a car accident that messed up my back. One reason I am wanting to have the laproscopic gastric bypass is to loose weight to help my bacck. I have been trying to get more exercise, but it is hurting my back so bad. Does anyone know any exercises that help strengthen the back or exercises that don't hurt the back? I may just have to deal with it and go on. Thanks.

Heya! Make sure you are documenting your exercise. I don't know if you belong to a gym, but you can always get your gym records.

Anyhoo-try physical therapy. After I lost weight I went for my back. It really didn't help, so it helped me for documentation when I got skin removed.

I think you should try to strengthen your core. Abdominal exercises will help your back.

When I was really heavy there really wasn't much I could do.

You may want to give yoga a try - it did wonders for my back.
