1/2 Marathon Sunday

Sunday is my first 1/2 marathon. I wi**** was today! I am not worried about the distance I have ran 13 miles twice, 14 miles once and 16 miles last Saturday. I know I should do fine if I don't get caught up in the moment. My goal is under 2 hours. It is a course around town here where I work and is basicly flat.

I didn't run last night, I am keeping it down to 3 days this week, Mon, Wed and Fri. I am going to work 1/2 day Sat just to try to keep busy, then go to the packet pick up later that afternoon. The race starts and ends about 2 blocks from where I work. I may end up doing a short run Sat but I am going to try to refrain.  Pasta dinner that evening as well. Last I heard they are planning on 1000 people counting everyone in the full, 1/2 and the 5K walk that is all starting at the same time. For Huntington that is quite a large event.

My next goal is a full marathon 1-25-08 in Miami on my birthday. Any one else planning on doing that race?

Good luck to you!

Best of luck Pan Head.   You won't need it though since it seems like you are well trained.   Rest up before hand and take the last three days before the race off.   You're fitness level won't go down in the least bit and you'll be much more fresh for the race.    Better to go in rested than overtrained.

I hope you get that sub 2 hour goal!
