I posted this on the lap band forum but thought I would ask people on the excercise board. I haven't excercised since my surgery in Oct. 07 so I decided I needed to start walking. I walked 2 miles three times last week and I gained 3 lbs. Why is that? Any suggestions

I think it is most likely water weight.  I think it has to do with your muscles recovering from the workout??  Don't let this deter you from working out - if you keep it up, you will see the weight / inches start to drop!

Good luck!

i know lifting weights causes weight gain cause muscle weights more than fat....but i dont think you have gained muscle from walking........it can be fluid weight......after my bypass i had gained weight but it was water weight......keep up the exercise you will start to see progress soon....never give up
