My first EVER triathlon report!!!
Congratulations Chris!
The tris around here make you estimate your swim time so you are swimming with people at about your same speed. They also won't allow entry into an 'open' or elite category unless you've actually finished a sprint tri in 1:15 or less (our swims here are +/- half mile).
Really sorry the weather was bad, but very happy for you that you completed the race!
Kudos to you for sticking with it and giving it your best! We learn a little something new after each one, so the next one should be a LOT more fun for you!

They did ask for my time for 100meter swim-so I purposely picked a really bad time...9 minutes. Thats why I was in the end of the open category. But for the open category-anyone can join it. I like your rules better!!
I got my official times
281 out of 342!! and I broke 10 minute miles-I never do that...so good day all around.

And many many people did (pass me) Judi.....even the 12 yr old little **** nice kid
Walking does have its advantages in the pool-I could look back whenever I wanted to make way for the many, numerous many that passed me in the pool. I did log a 9 1/2 minute 400M swim/walk.
HEY-a new sport...swim/walk!!!
MAybe it was the floaties on my arms that gave me away.........

Awesome job Chris! Great report and welcome to the 'club O' triathletes'!
You're nice to give that dude your tube. In a race I usually ride by, point and them and say something like, "SUCKS TO BE YOU!" and make the sound the Simpson's kid makes. "Haunghh Haunghh". (Not really. I always slow down and ask if they are OK but I never give up my spare tube!)
Grats again man!
Chad
Thanks Chad--I still have your emails to me with your advice saved in my inbox. Thanks for the advice and encouraging words way back-I knew I'd make it here one day.
And by reading all your posts--I knew you were kidding about the other guy with the flat-heck you'd ride em on your bike if you could!
Thanks again and thanks for all the advice. I learned alot reading your posts
