Kevin,

I used to work with a guy who does ultras.  He doesn't even do marathons anymore because he doesn't see a challenge in it anymore...

I think it's pretty cool for people to do these!

Heh.  Those things are almost as bad as the Deca-Ironman races.   Deca Ironman = 24 mile swim, 1120 miles biking and 262 miles running (all non-stop)

It takes a special kind of stupid to commit and complete one of those.    Check out this link to read about how one dude trained for and ran one.

Me, I'm gonna be happy with a plain old single Ironman.  :)

They had a news article on one of the local tv programs about a guy in San Francisco.

He runs daily marathons for his training.  He gets up every morning when it's still dark out, runs from S.F. over the bridge into Marin county, over a mountian then turns around and comes back.

The reporter commented that he didn't look tired.  He said no, I only ran a marathon, I'm not tired.

They asked him what he ate while running to keep his energy up.  He said he eats Big macs and pizza.  He carries a cell phone and a credit card with him.  He will call a pizza place and say I'm will be at mile marker XX in 20 minutes can you deliver the pizza there?

He has a documentary coming out about running 50 marathons in 50 days

I think this was the guy
