My first trainer! This week!

Hey everyone. I am almost 7 months out and have about 45 pounds to lose (lost about 130 so far) with a goal of 170 pounds (I'm 5'9 and play roller derby and need a little more bulk then I would if I wasn't playing this sport).

For my birthday, my friend (who manages a gym) got me 8 sessions with one of her trainers (who was a hockey player so he'll know how to train me for skating efficiency which is awesome). I am totally pumped to do this and I'm hoping this can get a chunk of this remaining weight off of me (the idea of the closing window period is freaking me out haha) while getting me in tip top shape for my sport.

I realized recently that although I have a long hisotry of playing sports, I've never actually done anything with a trainer. Any advice on how to get the most from this experience? Should I see him weekly? Any input on this subject would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
