How do you start???

I am about 6 wks ahead of you, my surgeon cleared me for cardio at 4 wks, but I didn't really start running until around 5 wks or so.

I didn't follow a plan, really I just started with running 2 minutes, walking 2 (or 3), and alternating for 20 minutes. Then I bumped it to 25, then 30.
It really does work! I'm now training for an 8 mile race & running at least 3 miles 4x a week.

Also- I am the slowest runner in the world, right now I can only max out (sustained) around 5.2 mph on the treadmill. To get my speed up I do intervals, but I am not quick. I don't care, though, at least my heartrate is up there.
