Been lurking here, but never posted.  I am just starting to get into the running grove and am in the second week of a walk to run program with a local hospital (love it - ran 12 minutes last night!)  I am shooting for my first 5K on July 26, the Heart of Summer run (http://www.heartofsummer.org/). I was looking for some playlists organized by beats per minute for couch to 5K training and found a very cool podcast series for a 10 week training series.  There is also a "Gateway to 8K" series.  You have to like club/dance music.  Enjoy! http://www.djsteveboy.com/intervals.html Take care, J

Jenny~Thank you for posting the podcast intervals website.  I have been working on getting from walking to running as well and would love to have some music that is upbeat for the whole time...right now I just listen to the radio while I am out on a walk/run.  Is the 5K you are doing here in Minnesota?  I am curious because I would love to start getting some races under my belt.  Keep up the great work!  ~Nicole

You bet.  It is July 26th at Lake Nokomis and is a 5k/10k/walk.  The website is www.heartofsummer.org.  I am in a 10 week training program through Healtheast with the goal of completing the event.  I must say even tho it is only week 2 it has gotten easier.  Yay! Keep running! J

I also use PodRunner, but get tired of the techno stuff and need to switch it up sometimes.  Another website that I LOVE is "Your Fitness Music" http://www.bestworkoutmusic.com/index.html You pick the genre of music you like (rock, country, pop, jazz) and the BPM you run/walk at, then it searches the database for matches.  Once you find songs you like, you can click straight through to websites that sell that individual MP3 file (usually around .10 to .25 each).  It's a great resource! They also have a software program called RePacer where you can input your favorite song and it will re-pace the song to match your BPM.  I haven't bought the software yet, but it's on my wishlist.
