what a difference a shoe can make

Road Runner Sports is one that is nationwide that also has an online store.  I know they have one or two in the Phoenix area, so I would assume they have them in California as well.  I buy most of my running shoes online from them.  Linn

I went to a local store called Robert's Running and Walking Shop, they carry Asics, Brooks, New Balance and a couple of other brands. Suppose to be the top brands. I bought Brooks, they felt the best to me.  Robert is a local guy who loves running. He was told that Huntington, WV was not big enough to support a running shop but he started it any way and has been doing good. I would rather give my money to a small guy like him than one of the national chain stores. Look in your local yellow pages under running or shoes. pan head

Yep!  When I got my first good pair of running shoes, it was amazing how much better they felt.  I'm so glad you went that route - you'll never be sorry.  Linn
