Ankle braces

Hello All, I'm trying to increase my exercise, but I have really bad pain in my ankles due to an ankle injury 20 years ago that left me with weak ankles. I went to my Podiatrist who suggested an ankle brace to me, but when I went to purchase it, the brace didn't fit my thick ankles. Does anyone have any suggestions for ankle supports that will fit larger ankles?  Thanks! -Sandra

I can think of a couple possible solutions.  First of all, you might be able to find a physical therapist that could teach you how to tape them properly.  The only problem with that is you have to continue to buy the tape.  The other option would be, again, have a physical therapist fit you with a more appropriate brace.  They can be specially made to fit your exact foot/ankle measurements.  There are also some braces that you tie like corsets that may not need to be specially ordered. I hope this helps some. Linn
