transition to outside running
I've had my mom's crappy old treadmill that I've been using, thinking that I wouldn't need one once it got nice out anyway. I went running outside a couple times and felt like I was being watched by everyone. I still feel like the fat girl, when I'm really just the chubby girl now. Needless to say, I ordered a brand spankin' new treadmill that should be here by the end of next week. It really wasn't a fun feeling for me despite loving the outdoors. I think I need to be more comfortable with myself first. :(
yeah, me too. (need to be more comfy with me)
but then i figure, I dont care. if a person feels the need to comment (thats happened to me before) or look or whatever that is their deal. and frankly sometimes people suck.
congrats on your new treadmill though!! I would love to have one.
btw: I'm acutely aware of every muscle in my back today. there are many. ouch.
chocolate, chocolate, chocolate! ACK!

Let me tell you what the guys that drive by are thinking. They are thinking, "I'd do her". Sorry that you had to hear it here from me but in 9 out of 10 cases it's true. ...Wait, that might be worse!
Nobody cares what you look like running except other runners and most likely, they are just happy that you are out gettin it done. Maybe you can find a secluded road without much traffic to get started or perhaps a state park.

Hahaha...yeah, I tend to believe that guys are thinking that most of the time!
My cousin used to always want me to take her to an ice cream shop by my house for "monkey tails" (frozen bananas dipped in chocolate and stuck on a stick), and I NEVER wanted to stay there and eat it because I already knew what was going on in the mens' heads...some of them anyway!
Oh yes, running outside is so much harder! First you feel like you're moving at a snail's pace! Then that fear that everyone is looking at you (yes, I feel like the fat girl running still too!), and then it's just harder on your joints and back. I have to stretch a heck of a lot more before I run outside. And I have to carry a wash cloth or handkerchief with me because my nose runs BAD everytime I run outside! You will get used to it and enjoy it more as you do it more. But it's definately different than the treadmill, that is for sure!
Good job, by the way! You're doing great!
