loss of energy
I dont know if I'm battling the flu or what. but the past 2 days the smallest of tasks have made me exhausted. (yesterday reading the paper & drinking coffee seemed to be too strenuous for me....wtf.)
I want to get back to the gym, but am wondering if it will help or set me back further.
I feel badly not having been there lately & just dont want to have this turn into a vicious cycle.
thoughts? thanks.
The only thing I wonder is if your iron levels are good. When I first started training for the marathon, with the increase in activity, my iron levels got very low just from losing it to the sweat and the pound. I was surprised until I looked it up and iron loss is a common problem with runners and people who do a lot of intense activity.
I'm considering having my thyroid levels checked as well because it seems that I'm more tired than normal. I rarely get sick, but there are definite times I feel run down when something is going around and I don't really get sick.

Kellee,
My opinion, if you are feeling that tired I'd take the day off and see how you feel tomorrow. If you don't get sick and you are still feeling exhausted, then you might want to pu**** and go to the gym tomorrow. Sometimes a good workout can do wonders!

Hi Kellee!
I agree with Mary ... take the day off and make sure you are not feeling sick from a flu bug or something. Make sure you get all your supplements in and drink your water. Also, make sure you're eating enough to compensate for your activity ... I know when I don't eat enough, I get more tired feeling and I have low energy.
Take a day off ... you deserve it!

First, don't feel quilty about anything. We al have "off" times and days. Next, this is the cold and flu season. Maybe you're catching something. I guess you'll have to wait that one out. It could be you need to increase your calories and fluid intake a bit. I went through that and have felt much better since doing it. Before, I was as tired or even more so than pre-surgery! I did gain a bit of weight back but I'm in a more normal stage right now. Maybe give that a try for a few days if you can.
