I am doing 60 minutes on the elliptical.  Interval training.  when I'm on flat I'm at a resistance 5 when I go up on at a resistance 10.  Is this OK for weight loss?  I really am concerned I'm not doing it right, time and resistance wise.  Any suggestions?

That's good for weight loss, the ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) recommends 45-60 minutes of aerobic activity (which is what the elliptical is) most, if not all, days of the week. That is what you need to do, keep up the good work. I know that if you look at the elliptical, if it has the option, that the calories burned may not look all that impressive. But, aerobic exercise actually boosts your metabolism after you work out (the exact effect depends on intensity, duration, etc.), which is another positive aspect to exercise. Are you doing any kind of weight training? Building lean muscle mass also increases your resting metabolism, which will help you burn calories while you are not exercising. Good luck!
