RNY on 11/15/05 with
Nicole; Check with your surgeon, but it's usually 6-8 weeks post-op before you can start swimming. All of your incisions need to be closed before you soak in water (even a bath).

If I were lying, wouldn't my pants be on fire?!?

I had RNY and had to wait about 2 weeks for the incisions to heal before it was ok for me to start pool exercises. Check with your surgeon. Good luck Earl

You can swim before and after surgery.  After, you must make sure your incisions are completely closed; you surgeon will give you further instruction.  Enjoy! Lisa
