Celtic Soltice Race Report
Hi all. Finished my third 5 mile event on Saturday. It was a total blast and my first experience with the chip timing. Now I see what all the fuss is about. I improved my time from my first 5 miler by about a minute finishing with a chip time of 42:55. The gear from the race was a really nice running jacket with a logo embroidered on the back. I didn't have any four year olds passing me this time. I had a friend running with me who started to tighten up in the middle of the race and blessed me to go on without him. I did and finished about four minutes ahead of him.
You can check out a nice race report with some pics (none of me, sorry; unless you can spot me in the opening crowd shot) here: http://www.runwashington.com/news/dec07celticsolsticerpt.htm l
Next up is the resolution run on New Year's Day. It's a 5K. I'm hoping I can get that done in around/under 25 minutes. Something to work on in the next couple of weeks anyway.
Dan,
It looks to me like you have a sub 25 in the bag. Here is my advice. Go out a little harder than you think you should and just hold on. I think you've got it in you. By the time 16 minutes is up, you only have a mile to go. Who can't run one hard mile?
Scott
