Hi I have a question I try to eat a combination of carbs and protein before I run however lately when I run more than 5 miles my stomach starts to hurt, cramp and I have to stop to have a bowel movement. I usually have a bowel movement before I run. I need help to not have a BM while I run a long distance. I have a half marathon this saturday and January 13th. Any advice from my friends will be greatly appreciated.

I think that you should experiment with different foods and see what works and doesn't.  I was having an issue for a while with Poland Spring water and couldn't figure it out.  3 miles in and I was running for the woods.   Later on I found out that If I ate dairy the night before the run, the same thing would happen.   Now the night before or day of a run, I only eat non sugar carbs, dense protein and no dairy.  That helps me.  Granted, it took almost two years to figure out. It may just be trial and error.  Try some different things and pay attention to how you feel.
