DAILY PLATE, NET CALORIES, BURNED CALORIES, CONFUSION???
oK SO IF ANY ONE USES THE DAILY PLATE OR JUST KNOWS ABOUT THIS STUFF??
FIRST QUESTION
1. SO I PUT IN WHAT I HAVE DONE FOR THE DAY AND IT SAYS I BURN LIKE 300 CALORIES JUST DOING LIGHT OFFICE WORK AT WORK??? IS THIS ACTUALLY TRUE???
SECOND QUESTION
2. SO IT PUTS IN MY NET CALORIES AND SAYS I CAN EAT AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT EVERYTIME I PUT IN MY ACTIVITY LEVEL....DOES THIS MEAN I NEED TO EAT MORE CALORIES BECAUSE I HAVE BURNED THEM DOING PRACTICALLY NOTHING??
AND DONE GET ME WRONG I DO HAVE 2 TODDLERS AND HAVE THEM ALL DAY BEFORE WORK AND I ALSO WILL DO SOME LIGHT WORKING OUT AT HOME WITH THE AB BALL OR PILATES OR TAE BO VIDEO TAPE
I don't use Daily plate but I applaud your skeptism.
Yes we burn calories walking around and just simple functioning but it is a much slower rate than if you are physically exerting yourself (whether itis intentional exercise or carrying kids or groceries, etc.). I rib my support group about using a vaccum in each hand to get a cardio workout during house cleaning chores ( out and back 1, out and back 2,.....)
A 5 to 6 mile jog for me at my pace and age burns about 800 calories. Fortunately I burn more than that during the day or I would have to eat less than 800 calories a day to lose any weight.
So your perspective is good. Those simple daily things do burn some calories but don't justify throwing caution to the wind on what you can eat. Good call.
