I am scheduled to have Lap RNY on November 15th,  1 month and 4 days Counting down. I want to know how soon did you guys start exercising after surgery?  I know they are going to make me walk right away. To the Guys, what forms of Exercise did you find most effective? Tory

Hi  Tory, I'd say start walking now. Don't wait until after Surgery.  After Surgery best thing you can do for the first 4 to 6 weeks is just walk, walk and walk some more. Good luck Earl

Hey Tory, I started back at the gym about 3 weeks after But all I was doing for the first 2 weeks was walking on the treadmill. Walking & more walking... everyday picking up the pace 1 interval at a time. AFter that I was full blast!

Good Luck!

I am 1 month out from my DS surgery, I had an open procedure, and I was given an 8 pound for 8 weeks rule, nothing over 8 pounds can be pushed, pulled or lifted, which is basically a gallon of milk. and being 1 month out it is still difficult for me to get in a good walk , so just listen to your body and walk walk walk.
