Overtraining & exercise addiction?

I just know that regardless of what the spinning experts say, I prefer the bulk of my workout (i.e. besides warm-up & cool down)  to be in the 75%-80% range, with occasional interval training of up to 85%, simply because when I try to stay below 65%, I'm bored, and watch the clock! Tami

I appreciate the info, and the chance to vent a bit!   I went to the Spinning website, and re-reviewed their "energy zones", and understand a little better what the instructor might have been referring to.  They say you're only supposed to work in the "strength" zone 1-2 times per week, and that you should work in the "recovery" zone of 50-65% of MHR 1-2 days a week.  I have to admit that I rarely have an average heart rate below 65% in a spin class, I tend to average 65-75%.  It's somehow harder to pace myself at a lower level, because it just seems tedious.   Tami
