I belong to a gym that has all kind of equipment.  However, I use the ones I know, the elliptical trainer, treadmill, and recumbent bike.  I need to work on my upper body.  In November, I tore my left acl and it is unrepaired and I broke my left elbow.  The left wrist is weak and I am left-handed.  Does anyone have any suggestions for weight training to strengthen my upper body?  The only thing I carry now are purses and brief cases.  I know many of you know a lot about exercise and fitness.  I would really appreciate some guidance. Hi Lynne Did you have a physical therapist?  I would ask your doctor about getting safe exercises for your arms in light of these injuries/surgery.  When I tore ligaments in my ankle, one of my therapies was to put weight on that leg - hang onto a wall and balance on it several times a day. That action helped the bones to get more dense.  Really you should ask a professional on this.
