Protein Absorbtion Test
I'm enrolled in my local college fitness class this semester. The instructor has asked several students, including myself, to participate in a protein absorbtion test. He explained we are hooked up to a monitor while we drink a large amount of water, then liquid protein, then do interval cardio and weight exercises while the information on how our body responds to the protein is captured in the monitoring device. When I spoke with him about my concern about being able to drink large amounts of anything, he said I could break the amounts up somewhat. He suggested that I drink 8 oz. of water, wait 5-10 min. then do another 8 oz., for a total of 24oz. of water, followed in about 10 minutes with about 24-30 oz. of Zero Carb Isopure. Then the interval exercising for approx. 30 mins. I'm 9 months out from my GB and doing really well. But I'm a little concerned about being able to tolerate that much liquid in a short time. On the other hand, I'd really like to see the individual results that would be given to me, especially now that my metabolism has changed so much. Any thoughts or advice? Thank you, Sandy
