looking for good websites
Hi folks, I'm new to this board . . . trying to make myself accountable for recent 17-lb weight gain and get back on track, food-wise and exercise-wise.
What I really need is a "virtual personal trainer" website LOL. Something that not only lets me track the daily exercise I accomplish, but maybe even recommends what to do, how often to do it for starters, etc.
I see fitday.com has a spot for the tracking, what I'm looking for is more motivational content and daily suggestions, or a way to create a personal exercise plan that gradually increases as I get used to it?
Thanks,
BJ

Hello friend
you can do this all by yourself No need for a personal trainer... although they are great when you need a kick in the hiney :-)
You need to KICK YOURSELF in the hiney .... lol .......i do it all the time....
if I can't............ then thats the day i will go looking for a personal trainer.
you NEED to CHALLENGE yourself....
workout hard.... and workout intense!
Post your daily exercise routine HERE on this board!
here are some questions to ask yourself
Are you into walking ?
then thats the way to go...don't start running right off the bat..
take it slow... and then BUILD up to running.
Do you like exercising to DVD's ?
here are some great DVD workouts below
-the NEW biggest loser's DVD
-Jillian Michael's ( former trainer of the biggest loser - The kickboxing DVD is great!! )
- the advance 5 mile walk ( walk away the pounds DVD )
Do you like a challenge ?
try one day running on a treadmil for 1/2 minute
build up your strength...then next couple of weeks try to do 1 FULL minute.
to start on the treadmil ....
Treadmil - walk - at the speed of 2.6 for 20 minutes.
Do you workout your abs ?
here are some ab exercises...
Remember say to yourself...
Wooohooo... yeahhhhh.....STRONG CORE and AB muscles
As you get use to and stronger you can do more...
but for NOW , try to get use to working out your AB muscles every 2 days.
all of my ab workouts are.. 4 sets of 20
BUT FOR YOU , try only doing ..... 2 sets of 20 ... for all the ab exercises.
with 1 -2 minutes resting between sets
IF you don't know these Ab exercises - CLICK HERE to look at the exercises.
regular crunches -
Oblique Crossover Crunches -
Side Plank with Oblique Twist
Bicycle Exercise -
Reverse Crunch -
Crunches on the ball with a medicine ball (5 lbs)-
for your body not to get use to and go on to a plateau
you have to CHANGE your exercise every single day ....
the same for your foods... and calorie intake
don't eat the same calories as you did yesterday and so on ....
for example exercises-
MON -DVD exercise 30 mins and walking for 30 minutes
Tues - walking for 45 mins. and Treadmil
Weds- thurs - DVD exercise and then workout on the treadmil for 30 minutes.
Friday - OFF DAY
SAT - Elliptical machine ( if you have this , use it! ) for 30 minutes
SUN - walking for 45 mins. and Treadmil
you can switch the days off/on days to your needs....
just do at least 30 minutes a day or MORE to lose weight!!
Remember to add in some weight training as you get better at exercising too :-)
FOR BEST results - try to workout 2 times a day IF you can... for at least 30 minutes....
do what ever YOU can do , get your heart rate UP and stay there for 30 minutes...
for tracking your foods , yes use fitday.com . it is a great site.
also you will see on the left hand side...... there is a tracking for daily exercises..
use this site everyday ....and you will start to lose your weight!!
Remember to COME HERE and post your DAILY exercise routine and also if it helps.... post what you ate too :-)
We will help you out....
best wishes

My cable company have a exercise on demand channel with Walk Away the Pounds, strength training, and cardio dvds as well as pilates and other dvds. If you have access, this is a great way to do rotation training.
