Hello everyone. I'm sort of new around here. I'm pre-op and trying to eat better and get more exercise. The problem is that my back went out on me last Tuesday. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get myself moving again? Any sitting exercises? meesa

Hi Meesa, It's hard to answer questions like this because we don't know your health, ablilities or the extent of your injury. I know when I had a pinched nerve (several over the years actually) walking was always a good cure for my back. Then I got to where I could put a broom stick on my back and do sidebends and good mornings (bend overs/ toe touch things). If you just need some exercises to do in a chair, get some bands or light dumbbells and start pulling and curling. I know it's general but people write books on this stuff. Here's a link...just look up band exercises and you get all kinds of ideas...just choose what you can do and forget the rest. http://www.acefitness.org/getfit/RubrBndWkout.pdf http://www.bodyforlife.com/exercise/animations.asp Good luck  Earl

Earl, Thanks for the links. I'll check them out. I may have my DH bring the cardioglide from the basement when I'm feeling better. That never bothered my back. I will look up band exercises. Thanks for the ideas! meesa
