Saturday Workout

Today I consentrated on Cardio and Arms while at the gym Treadmill: 35 minutes / Zero Incline / Rate 2.5 to 3.5  Arm Curls: 3 sets of 12 reps @ 30 lbs (my right arm is weaker then my left) Arm Press: 3 sets of 12 reps @ 70 lbs Seated Row: 3 sets of 12 reps @ 50 lbs Lower back: 2 sets of 8 reps w/the buttocks squuuueeeze for that glutes :D Total work out time: 1 hour Taekwondo was not as good :(  The new owner / instructor just doesnt fit with the type of training I am accustomed to nor the motivation I need to keep going so I do not foresee my renewal of my contract.  He didnt stretch us out, and had I not done it prior at the gym I am sure I would have hurt something.  He had us in half-sparring gear and nit picked that we werent doing the leg stretches right (the sparring equipment is slippery to hold on to).   We did 1 minute punches, 1 minute kicks, 1 minute punch/kicks back and forth... sure I got to my  target heart rate but then he had us standing around for 2 minutes afterward jabbering away to the kids :(  He had us lay on our backs to do diagonal leg lifts and it hurt my back so much that I had to stop.  Then when we were done, oh joy another 2-3 minute session of doing nothing :|  Then we did take downs... they were so simple and so below our ranks that my black belt partner and I were bored to tears and yippe 15-20 minutes of doing just about nothing. It was almost not worth counting towards my exercise for the day. :(

It sounds like your taekwondo was a dissappointment today...good workout though for the rest! I did a 3 mile walking DvD today...and worked some on resistance with my arms...Dede

Good job B. Sorry about the new instructor. I decided to head to the gym even though the ACL is still shot. I've been resting and icing it so it's feeling better. I'm 90 % sure I just strained it. But no cardio until it's 100%. It's at like 20% now.  4:45 pm to 6 pm 15 min warmup (mainly abs) Good mornings Olympic good mornings Seated Calf Raises Cybex calf press DB Curl superset DB French press Hammer Curls superset close grip pushups on bar Pushdowns superset Concentration curls Felt good to just stretch out a little after laying around for 2 days.
