New to exercise - is 1.75 miles a good start?

I walked twice this week and it was 1.75 miles in 45 minutes.  I am 1 mo post op from lap rny.  Someone tell me if this is good?

Asking whether or not 1.75 miles in 45 minutes is good depends entirely on the individual.  You're up....you're out....you're moving!  So, yes this is GOOD!!   Each time you walk, be sure you measure your time and your distance.  1.75 in 45 minutes is YOUR baseline - it's YOUR starting point.   Make a commitment to exercise, establish a plan/schedule and then stick with it.  Then, as you measure your time/distance each time, once you achieve consistency, work to gradually improve your time with the 1.75  mile distance and then increase your distance. I think it sounds great! When I first started walking after surgery I had to force myself to make it the mile my surgeon required. Keep up the great work. jacie
